As an Internal Communications Sr Specialist, you will write and edit senior executive speeches and key messages. You will act as speech project manager ensuring deadlines are met and messaging is cohesive, strategic and integrated. You will also develop and execute speech process and strategy in partnership with Internal Communications manager to help Internal Communications team execute 250+ annual speeches. You will provide communications counsel to the Target Adoption Network and leadership committee. You will also provide oversight and project management support for key initiatives.
Writing and editing senior executive speeches for key meetings.
Managing the strategic speechwriting process including gathering executive input, conducting research, engaging resources to develop draft speech and/or write draft speech, and finalizing speech in time and within budget.
Partnering with Internal Communications client leads to broadly understand pyramids' business priorities and corresponding communication strategies.
Partnering with vendors and freelancers on speech development.
Supervising and coaching specialist who has responsibility to support executive and business clients.
Developing annual communication strategy for Adoption Network, including development of internal and external editorial plan, management of intranet site, brown bag meetings, special events, speeches, presentations, etc.
Conducting research on adoption topics and updating resource materials with current information.
Providing status reports to the Network's executive sponsor and leadership team.
Controlling expenditures and managing network expense center within established guidelines.
Facilitating resolution of any issues that may jeopardize timely, accurate and quality communications.
Proactively seeking process improvements and initiating projects to improve overall Network effectiveness. Also, partnering with other Business Councils to benchmark, share ideas and ensure consistency.
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, English or Public Relations or equivalent experience
Strategic thinking skills to anticipate client needs and proactively implement solutions.
Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills, including knowledge of and/or experience in speech development.
Excellent organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
Solid understanding of the Target Corporation brand and developing knowledge of brand management.
