Fleishman Hillard - Account Executive

Fleishman-Hillard has an immediate opening for an Account Executive to join our Consumer Marketing and Technology Communications practice group in our Minneapolis office. This position provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with collaborative teams on developing and executing public relations and media relations campaigns for a Fortune 500 client base. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, ability to develop well-written press releases and must be computer proficient.

Responsibilities:
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients

  • Pitching stories to regional, national, and trade media

  • Writing strategic plans, press releases, media advisories and other communication pieces for numerous clients

  • Advancing corporate communications strategies that embrace the client’s strategy and positioning
  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working for a public relations agency or in a public relations or corporate communications department

  • Previous experience in working on public relations campaigns for technology, financial services, healthcare, and/or business-to-consumer clients is a plus

  • Knowledge of business media and skills in building and maintaining media relationships including pitching business and corporate stories to media

  • Strong writing/editing skills are required

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field

  • Must be detail-oriented and a good problem solver

    Purpose


    As an Internal Communications Sr Specialist, you will write and edit senior executive speeches and key messages. You will act as speech project manager ensuring deadlines are met and messaging is cohesive, strategic and integrated. You will also develop and execute speech process and strategy in partnership with Internal Communications manager to help Internal Communications team execute 250+ annual speeches. You will provide communications counsel to the Target Adoption Network and leadership committee. You will also provide oversight and project management support for key initiatives.

  • Facilitating resolution of any issues that may jeopardize timely, accurate and quality communications.
  • Proactively seeking process improvements and initiating projects to improve overall Network effectiveness. Also, partnering with other Business Councils to benchmark, share ideas and ensure consistency.
  • Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, English or Public Relations or equivalent experience
  • Strategic thinking skills to anticipate client needs and proactively implement solutions.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills, including knowledge of and/or experience in speech development.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of the Target Corporation brand and developing knowledge of brand management.
