Weber Shandwick - Director, Interactive and Emerging Media

The Minneapolis office of Weber Shandwick has an opening for a Director of Interactive and Emerging Media. Your responsibilities will include development and managing execution of strategic interactive marketing and public relations campaigns, reporting directly to the Vice President of Interactive and Emerging Media. Integrate strategic interactive tactics within client's overall public relations/marketing objectives and plans.

Current interactive and emerging media products and services include, but are not limited to, Web site development, social media integration, text-messaging campaigns, Internet Press Kits, eNewsletters, podcasting, online games and much more.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic plan development
  • Presenting concepts to clients/prospective clients
  • Explaining latest technologies to PR staff
  • Responses to RFPs
  • Integration of interactive concepts into pre-existing PR plans
  • Ensuring successful delivery of projects
  • Client growth and profitability
  • Monitoring results to improve future campaigns / report to client
  • Providing monthly status updates and reports to the client
  • Financial accountability of projects
  • Mining of existing clients
  • Participate in the recruitment, retention and development of top employees
  • Qualifications:

  • Strong and current knowledge of new media, technology, interactive research and emerging standards related to digital media.
  • Candidate must be a strategic thinker and have an understanding of traditional and digital marketing and media disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in interactive public relations, marketing, advertising, account management
  • Experienced manager with ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Track record in building relationships at an executive level.
  • Experience with development and implementations of marketing initiatives and experience managing outside vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required including experience writing proposals and presentations.
  • Good computer skills including familiarity with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent online research skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and organization skills.
  • Education:
    College degree in marketing communications or equivalent related business experience.
