St. David’s Center Marketing and Events Internship


Based in Minnetonka, St. David’s Center for Child & Family Development is a nonprofit organization that provides early childhood education, therapy services and in-home support throughout the West metro. As a leader in child development, our goal is to create supportive family environments where all children thrive. As we enter our 50th year this September, we are looking for a creative and detail-oriented 50th Anniversary Community Relations Intern to participate in communication and marketing functions related to our anniversary year.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with public relations, marketing, and social networking efforts for St. David’s Center by writing press releases and announcements, researching potential audiences and online marketing opportunities, and drafting Facebook content
  • Assist with event planning and implementation including the Fall Festival, Children’s Author Series events and 50th Anniversary Gala
  • Develop content and create David’s Center’s weekly staff e-newsletter
  • Assist with creating and distributing email campaigns and online surveys
  • Assist with feature stories for newsletters and other publications
  • Research media opportunities and assist in building a media database
  • Support administrative function within communications and events
This is an unpaid internship, 15-20 hours per week. September – December 2010

Qualifications:

  • Completed or currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field
  • Proficient using Microsoft office products and knowledge of the internet and social media
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to manage a project with goals and deadlines
