About the Saint Paul Public Library:
Saint Paul’s Public Library has long been recognized as one of the community’s most cherished places. The Library connects people in Saint Paul with the imperative and the joy of learning through a lifetime.
The system is the third largest in the state of Minnesota with a Central Library, 12 neighborhood libraries and a bookmobile. In 2010, the Saint Paul Public Library welcomed more than 2.6 million visitors.
Performs intermediate-level professional work organizing public relations activities and developing promotional and educational materials. Researches, writes, and edits news releases, newsletters and internal communications. Prepares or edits speeches and scripts for presentation at public meetings for the media. Plans and arranges displays, exhibits, tours, lectures, films, and other public events to promote goodwill and inform the community. Prepares and assembles audio-visual materials to support public relations efforts. Maintains departmental website including creating content and updating the internal and external website. Performs related duties as required.
A bachelor's degree is required. No substitution for education. A Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Graphic Design is preferred. One year of experience in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Graphic Design is required.
