Each year ShopNBC seeks out talented individuals
for the summer internship program at its Headquarters in Eden Prairie,
MN. This summer we are looking for Junior or Senior undergrads to work
in the following areas:
TV Production
Videography Styling
Visual Product Coordination
Marketing
Merchandising
Legal
IT
Mass Communications/Programming
During the 12 week program, June– August 2012, Interns will be placed in
a department that complements their field of study, and provided with
opportunities that will enhance their experience as well as their
portfolios. Plus, each summer the Interns take on a new group project.

Preferred experience and skills:
Junior or Senior undergrad status with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Previous retail experience, a plus
Organized, self-motivated, self-directed
Internship Highlights:
Integrated Job Experience:
Interns are fully immersed into our business, completing tasks and
taking on responsibilities in a designated area of study. This
experience will provide a foundation of business knowledge, on the job
experience and additional skills that will prepare interns for future
career opportunities.
Group Project:
Each summer the intern group will be assigned a group project. The group
is responsible for self-managing all aspects of the project from
research and analysis to a final presentation to key business sponsors
to sell the idea for potential company implementation.
Job Shadow:
Our organization is made up of highly talented professionals in a
variety of fields. Networking is a key part in the process of building a
career. Throughout the internship there will be opportunities to work
along side team members in other areas of the company.
Leadership Meetings:
These events allow you to get to know the top executives in a more
personal setting. Find out how they got to where they are today, and
advice they have for young professionals.
Career Preparation:
Toward the end of the internship program interns will have various
opportunities to practice and acquire useful tips for job searching.
Mock Interviews:
Mock interviews will be setup to help you practice and gain insight on
how to interview in a professional environment. A hiring manager will
ask you questions, similar to what would be asked of an actual
candidate. Discussion will follow the interview regarding the questions,
your answers, and other tips while interviewing.
Resume Critique:
A session will be set up to discuss your resume with an HR professional.
They will give you advice on content, layout and other tips that will
make you more marketable.
