Minnesota Transportation Alliance seeks a part-time intern

The Minnesota Transportation Alliance seeks a part-time, temporary intern to manage social media outreach, update our web site and assist with events hosted by the organization. Applicant needs to have experience working with Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft Office Suite, and Illustrator or In Design.

Veterans Affairs Dept - Interactive Media Coordinator

Job Description: 
This position is responsible for assisting with the creation, development, and implementation of a comprehensive integrated media program that will enhance the image and position of the MN Department of Veterans Affairs within the state.

General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Communications Director and Communications Division in planning, implementing, and evaluating interactive media campaigns
- Coordinate Department?s social media communication platforms, to include creation and update of blog(s)
- Research and provide technical and industry best practices during new website creation phase and provide regular updates for online press room and general website
- Provide regular analytics to evaluate interactive media strategy and performance
- Create and edit podcasts and videos for Department initiatives
- Maintain online databases and directories
- Assist with special events and communication events
- Prepare and edit media advisories, press releases, fact sheets, and press kits

Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a related field
*Strong writing and editing skills
*Knowledge of Associated Press Style
*Experience with photography and the creation of images designed to compliment written communications
*Experience with video and editing
*Experience in Web development and the production of Web content, marketing materials, and collateral material that demonstrates strong writing and editing skills
*Experience with Adobe suite programs, to include InDesign, PhotoShop and Premier Pro, or equivalent software
*Experience with SEO and SMO

Requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. The intern will assist marketing and sales staff with the promotion of the CROPLAN GENETICS Seed and AgriSolutions Crop Protection Product brands. Projects will include websites, advertising, direct mail, communications and developing support materials. Will also assist marketing and sales staff with the promotion of the Answer Plot Program.

Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs - Communications and Public Relations Intern

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:  The communications intern is responsible for contributing to all aspects of the communications department within the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. The intern in this position will serve as a staff member working with the communications team. This is an unpaid position, but may be eligible for credit.

Three internships with the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization

Organization Overview & History
The Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) and the Minneapolis Downtown Council work together to create the city’s official civic festival known as The Minneapolis Aquatennial. Since 1940 the Minneapolis Aquatennial has created a nostalgic reputation of community involvement, leadership and volunteerism.
The Minneapolis Downtown Council presides over a variety of events that create “The Best Days of Summer”. Events such as the Milk Carton Boat Races, The Torchlight Parade, The Block Party, and The Calhoun Beach Bash have been cornerstone events for the 10-day festival held every July.

The AAO is one of the premiere non-profit organizations in the country. For more than 70 years, the AAO has been honoring young women, seniors and volunteers who serve as ambassadors representing the City of Minneapolis. The AAO Ambassador Family consists of the Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of The Lakes and Princesses, the Commodore, two Captain positions, and four senior ambassadors. These individuals travel to over 200 appearances throughout the State of MN, nationally and internationally representing the City of Minneapolis and the Aquatennial festival during their one year reign.

Each year, over 40 young women come to the Aquatennial festival to vie for the title of Queen of the Lakes or Princess. These young women have spent a year representing their hometown festivals from around the State of MN. They are hosted by AAO for seven days in Downtown Minneapolis to learn about the city, meet other ambassadors, participate in leadership & development programs, and partake in many Aquatennial activities. The AAO prides itself on offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience to these young women during that week, and helping them develop personally and professionally through their experience with AAO.

Also during the Aquatennial festival, Visiting Dignitaries come to Minneapolis to celebrate our festival and also represent their own festivals – such as Fiesta San Antonio, Pasadena Tournament of Roses, Macon, Georgia Cherry Blossom Festival, Winnipeg Festival du Voyageur, and the St. Paul Winter Carnival.

Create and deliver marketing and communications plans and materials to support the growth of the Health IT department. QUALIFICATIONS
