Our Minneapolis office is looking for a Strategist for its Social Media practice.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This person will be responsible for Digital and Social initiatives such
as writing and managing client social media assets and communities,
syndicating content via social networks, blogger relations and plan
development. S/he must also have strong content creation skills
(writing, blogging, microblogging and a familiarity with multimedia
development such as video and podcasting), creative thinking abilities
and the ability to develop blogger and client relationships. S/he must
have a solid grasp of all basic social media tools and how they affect a
client’s business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with clients on tactical issues in social and digital media
(blogging, microblogging, microsites, social networks, syndication,
etc.) and provide basic client counsel.
Conduct and manage the flow of research. Develop blogger
relationships. Participate in client meetings and presentations.
Contribute to plan development processes.
Support the new business development process. Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client.
Demonstrate sophisticated social and digital media skills, including social media monitoring. Develop web content as needed.
Serve as a role model to team members.
Manage external vendors.
Contribute to program planning and account management by
researching budgets, attending brainstorms, and facilitating the
purchase order process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism
or Communications, and 3-5 years related professional experience, with
some agency experience desired.
Prefer candidates with PR agency experience and must be
proficient in Microsoft Suite, online services and new media.
Candidate should possess a thorough command of the social media and
digital world (from the evolving social web to mobile tools and trends),
sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high
energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation.
Previous experience supporting a client in community management, mobile
and/or general technology is a plus. Interactive, digital advertising
and/or digital PR agency experience preferred.
