University of Minnesota - Communications Intern


Required/Preferred Qualifications


Prefer a marketing, communication or journalism student with junior status. Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during regular business hours (8am-4:30pm, M-F). Must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, past experience showing a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and proven exceptional attention to detail. Working knowledge of computers is necessary. Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required. InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver knowledge is a plus. Some experience with event coordination, public speaking, and graphic design is preferred.   

Duties/Responsibilities

Intern will assist the communications team with all aspects of promoting the products and services of the department. In addition, intern is responsible for filling publication orders, overseeing publication and giveaway inventory, stocking publications throughout campus and coordinating special events. Duties include market research, communications and design work, as well as other projects as assigned.
