Duties:Overview: The Communications & Membership Associate provides quality support to ensure that the Association’s initiatives and services are effectively fulfilling the Association’s mission, meeting member expectations and facilitating positive relationships within the charter school movement, the public policy arena, and among community leaders and the general public. The Communications & Membership Associate’s focus is two-fold: 1] ensuring that the external communication tools and messaging of the Association are effective and efficient so staff, board members and member volunteers are successful in their work, and 2] ensuring that members, potential members and corporate sponsors know and understand the value and benefit of involvement in the Association.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES - • Coordinate, write and edit, format and distribute electronic and print newsletters to members and others • Coordinate, write and distribute legislative updates, alerts and end of session reports • Coordinate, write, edit and design of publications and reports , • Maintain and update overall content (writing, editing and formatting) of the MACS website as well as designated areas of the website (i.e, charters in the news, vendor directory listings, and general content), • Develop , edit and distribute press releases • Coordinate Association mailings to members and others, • Monitor tracking reports on electronic newsletters, website, and social media viewership
MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT & CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES - • Coordinate the annual(school & associate) membership and membership renewal drives, and conduct membership solicitation visits • Identify, do initial contact and solicitation of potential corporate sponsors and coordinate sponsorship benefits, • Coordinate logistics, registration, etc. for membership recruitment & networking events, and corporate sponsor events • Coordinate logistics for school developer programs and events • Design, distribute and tabulate member satisfaction surveys • Serve as committee liaison and staff for Membership Committee • Maintain database records of member engagement and develop accountability reports
SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL STAFF - • Respond to telephone, email and mail inquires • Visitor and meeting hospitality • Write content for appropriate areas of website and publications • Major event planning and implementation (Law Conference, Annual Conference, Annual Meeting, etc.) as assigned • Create, organize, and maintain records of office procedures and association performance • Supervise volunteers and interns as appropriate, • Staff events, committees and workgroups as assigned • Identify and inventory office supplies OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES - • Undertake other tasks and duties as defined by the Executive Director Reports to: Executive Director
