Mosaic Company - External Communications Specialist

Are you our next External Communications Specialist?
We are currently seeking an External Communications Specialist for our Plymouth, MN location. The External Communications Specialist will participate in the support of external communications strategies and will be responsible for news releases, video production, public website updates, publication drafting and design, and developing and nurturing media relationships. This person will manage financial and social responsibility communications and Mosaic’s social media channels, including strategy, news delivery, and design of sites.

What will you do?
• Develops communications for external use, including news releases, media briefing documents, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, external website updates, etc.; manages news releases and media relationships related to financial communications and social responsibility initiatives.
• Participates in and/or manages ongoing projects, including writing, editing and design of corporate annual and sustainability reports, quarterly earnings communications, and corporate brochure and fact sheet publications.
• Manages all social media communications, including leading Mosaic’s social media strategy, channel design, news sharing, social media editorial calendar and conversation initiation.
• Manages production of publications, including the corporate brochure and quarterly Market Mosaic video. Participates in additional Mosaic video production, including script drafting and editing, video design and distribution.
• Builds and maintains an external editorial calendar program and assists with proactive pitching opportunities.
What do you need for this role?
• Bachelor’s Degree required, major in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related discipline preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working in a public relations agency or corporate public relations environment.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Must have the ability to craft and manage communications for a variety of stakeholders, including social media audiences and social responsibility, financial, business and trade reporters.
• Experience in developing and managing social media outreach.
• Strong computer skills, which includes proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
• Highly professional demeanor and must have diplomacy skills.
• Creative thinker with the ability to come up with new ideas and improve upon others’ suggestions.
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and decision making skills.
• Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities and a high volume of work.
• Must be able to establish and maintain internal and external levels of personal credibility and programmatic credibility.
• Must demonstrate sound judgment and decisiveness.
• Ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
