currently seeking a part-time Communications Consultant.
Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Hours of Work: Flexible schedule, with office hours
being Monday – Friday, normal office hours.
Job Description:
Assist in story
idea development, writing and promotion of newsworthy content to increase the
visibility of Shelter For Life (newsletter articles, Web site, e-newsletters,
news releases, success stories, and other marketing materials as directed).
This individual will assist in creating and maintaining communications and
media contacts (including Constant Contact) for SFL, assist with graphic art
design of publications, help build our capabilities with enhancement of our
presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. to increase the visibility
of the SFL. Also, this individual will assist with the promotion of events,
preparation of news coverage tracking & assist with Web site maintenance,
research free media & marketing opportunities, outreach efforts throughout
the greater Twin Cities area.
Communications Consultant will also work on collateral materials, including
SFL’s annual report, also special projects as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
in Mass Communications and Journalism, Public Relations and Marketing, and/or
Expository Writing. Strong proficiency in both writing and editing in
English. Background in web maintenance
and design. InDesign experience highly
preferred. Excellent communication
skills, ability to network and speak in public.
Will be able to work independently, and report accurately on goals
attained.
