Weber Shandwick seeking Senior Level Digital Strategist

We are currently seeking a Senior Level Digital Strategist to work as part of our 32 person Digital Communications team in the Minneapolis office. The Senior Strategist is an experienced digital marketing professional who will lead digital/social/mobile strategy and execution, managing content creation and syndication, community management and platform design and development for major accounts. This role requires the ability to integrate with account teams and counsel clients through the evolving digital and social media landscape, guiding the integration of digital storytelling across all PR efforts. Candidates must have knowledge of and experience in driving social and digital campaigns specifically in the healthcare industry.

Candidates must:


  • Be advanced and skilled communicators, including both written, (documents and presentations) and interpersonal communication skills: specifically, the ability to successfully present program recommendations, and establish relationships with senior clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Possess superb execution and management skills: specifically, the ability to allocate resources effectively, structure teams and deliver programs with excellence. Is experienced in managing and developing junior staff, advising senior clients and being responsible for delivery of programs on time, and on budget with superior results.
  • Have a deep background and proven ability to define and bring to life and execute strategies for large, digital projects including, but not limited to, online content and video production, web design and development, community management, social media monitoring and media outreach.
  • Understand the intersection of paid, owned and earned media within digital campaign orchestration.
  • Work collaboratively with traditional and digital media leadership teams to create an integrated campaign following Weber Shandwick’s Content Fusion framework.
  • Provide strategic, value-added counsel to clients to consistently introduce new ideas and approaches. Then, implement and educate internal staff, existing and prospective clients on these new media resources and technologies, programs, and activities.
  • Have a thorough understanding and appreciation for the new media landscape, including the ability to demonstrate Weber Shandwick’s thought leadership in the space.
  • Demonstrate a history of success in working with clients in sectors such as health care, financial services, B2B or government that must navigate challenges in implementing social media strategies.

    Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide insight on emerging trends and online media developments as they affect public relations and marketing.
  • Develop strategies to harness advocates online whether those are industry influencers, consumers or other constituencies.
  • Design and implement complex digital/social media engagement campaigns alongside our healthcare practice while also touching other industries as well (e.g., financial services, tech, government and corporate affairs.)
  • Create and execute accurate budget estimates for clients for long-term and short-term programs.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of our clients' brands and marketing/communication goals and develop creative solutions that boost the brand’s reputation.
  • Take broad campaign concepts and strategy and translate them into meaningful, actionable operating plans for account teams.
  • Identify ways in which to measure success against the campaign goals and achievable outcomes. Determine methods for which to obtain that data and present the key measurements and analysis to clients as well as internal account and management staff.
  • Oversee content production from concept to execution.
  • Oversee community management to maximize engagement and advocacy for brands.
  • Oversee web platform development from concept to execution (Facebook, mobile apps, brand microsites, corporate websites, etc.).
  • Guide, mentor and motivate junior staff as they develop within the agency and the industry.
  • Participate in new business pitch development and presentations.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor's degree, and 7+ years of experience bringing digital campaigns to life using digital, social and mobile media. Candidate should possess a thorough command of the social media and digital world (from the evolving social web to mobile tools and trends), sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation. Interactive, digital advertising and/or digital PR agency experience preferred.
