Assistant Creative Video Specialist
Twelve-month, Full-Time 100% Appointment (Staff - Professional Non-Faculty)
RESPONSIBILITES:
Serve as assistant creative content provider in the University of Minnesota’s athletic department’s multimedia production efforts, most notably video and motion graphics. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit video content for Gopher athletics web and scoreboard properties
- Work with new media, communications and promotional staff to create journalistic, marketing, publicity, highlight and other featured multimedia content
- Produce motion graphics for in-game scoreboard and web properties
- Direct live broadcasts to air on basketball, football and hockey video boards
- Assist with efforts to improve production quality of live video webcasts, utilizing existing and new technological infrastructure
- Coordinate archiving and sharing of digital video assets for departmental usage
- Utilize intern and student labor to increase and improve both quality and quantity of video content
- Strong proficiency in non-linear video editing software, including Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X
- Familiarity with Sony XDCAM and other tapeless HD camera workflows
- Knowledge of video codecs and formats
- Familiarity with motion graphics software, including Adobe After Effects and Apple Motion
- Familiarity with live web video streaming protocols
- Familiarity with CatDV media asset management software a plus
- Ability to set up and execute solo shoots in a studio and on location
- Interview and on-camera experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years experience in professional video production, preferably with collegiate/professional athletics organization
- Experience in motion graphics creation
- Willingness to work night/weekend hours
- Demonstrated ability to meet short deadlines, work in team-oriented and fast-paced environments
- Function in accordance to all NCAA, Big Ten and University rules and regulations
