This position develops and manages DMA-level and local store strategies, plans, and processes to create, execute, and measure best-in-class marketing programs that align and enhance a national brand strategy. Candidate must have strong presentation skills and ability to thrive in an independent, fast-paced work environment. Position requires travel on a quarterly basis to markets primarily in the Midwest. This position reports to Nemer Fieger’s Chief Marketing Officer/Subway Account Director.
Develop, lead and manage execution of specific, local store marketing programs, tests and plans.
Execute local component(s) of major national and regional promotions.
Maintain day-to-day relationships and communications with local advertising co-op members, board members and franchisees.
Identify key on-line and off-line local marketing programs and track program effectiveness at building sales.
Communicate, train and lead field on specific roles in local marketing programs on an on-going basis to assist with sales growth.
Create and manage local marketing program calendars, campaigns, and support materials to ensure that all communications to franchisee, employee and customers are aligned with local and national business goals.
Translate technical/corporate information into clear and easy to understand directions.
Write, edit, and proofread point-of-purchase instructions, creative strategy briefs, press releases, market/restaurant communications, scripts, e-mails and other communication materials.
Create and manage field communications and newsletters.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Complete work with minimal direction/guidance.
Propose, develop and implement project plans.
BA/BS in Marketing preferred.
Experience working in/with a multi-unit organization, preferably a franchise and/or QSR brand.
Four-to-eight years’ food/retail /franchise marketing experience.
Proven experience in developing and execute local store marketing initiatives.
Relationship-building and maintenance skills with both internal and external clients.
Creative-thinker who can quickly develop strategic, innovative ideas.
Solid analytical thinker who is able to synthesize data from multiple sources.
Intermediate math skills, including ability to derive detailed reports with percentages and cost of goods.
Computer competency skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic graphics skills.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment, to be a team leader and facilitate brainstorming sessions.
Strong presentation skills, speaking with confidence, clarity and conviction.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills: tact, good listening, writing and consulting skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests.
Well-organized, systematic person with high-attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong understanding of financial reports and ability to analyze sales data.
Ability to establish strong working relationships across and at every level in the organization; excellent facilitation skills, and an understanding of cross-functional interdependencies across marketing, finance, sales and operations.
Sit/work at a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to work occasionally on evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Regular automotive travel to franchisee meetings and on research initiatives.
Ability to accurately use a business calculator.
