Patterson - Marketing Specialist

Job Description:

Patterson Dental is seeking a driven marketing specialist to join our vendor marketing team. As a Vendor Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for all promotional functions. Responsibilities include developing print collateral, website content and sales tools/programs, while maintaining a strong/collaborative relationship with assigned vendor partners.

Initial contact for assigned vendor partners. Lead promotion plan development and implement necessary plans to achieve or exceed sales. Secure vendor partner marketing programs and promotions to drive existing and new customers to Patterson Dental.
Work with other key functional areas (purchasing/analytics/interactive/in-house agency) to ensure sales of existing and new brands are maximized with proper communication, promotion, creative merchandising and adequate inventory. Provide accurate and timely communication of merchandising/marketing plans to internal and external areas of the business. Ensure that promotional materials and sample merchandise are shipped in a timely manner to the field.
Key Responsibilities:
  • · Work with list of assigned vendor partners as required for obtaining all appropriate marketing materials (copy, photos, all relevant product and promotional information) in order to meet production timelines. This includes management of internal workflow process to ensure seamless and timely implementation of projects and adherence to all deadlines.
  • · Attend vendor partner meetings as needed. Communicate with vendor partners to ensure that advertisements are created that meet the advertising objectives set by the Merchandise Director/Marketing Communication Manager and the vendor partner.
  • · Work with in-house agency to produce promotional materials while ensuring information presented is accurate, complete and on time.
  • · Write/have vendor partner or agency write supplemental articles/blog posts to support communication of key product information.
  • · Enhance the scope of vendor partner brands by developing and implementing publication layouts, direct marketing strategies and advertisements that support category sales.
  • · Provide guidance and acceptable parameters for deployment of promotional activities involving the Patterson sales force.
  • · Collaborate with Social Media, Web Marketing and other cross-functional teams on content development/vendor partner brand awareness.
  • · Set up and maintain automatic free goods promotions and item notes to support marketing campaigns for their assigned vendors.

  • · Coordinate/communicate with purchasing department to ensure that the individual purchasing agents are informed of items to be advertised and to determine marketing strategies for eliminating product overstock situations.
  • · Content management: Create content for print and web marketing vehicles, manage vendor ad estimates/billing, maintain Patterson Advantage program, provide proof of performance to vendors for marketing activities.
  • · Campaign management: Conduct analysis and review of marketing campaigns and collaborate on development of new marketing campaigns to drive business.
  • · Regional marketing/field engagement: Work with branch office to drive marketing activities and training into the branches.
  • · Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field required.
2-3 years of experience in marketing/communications required. Experience working in the dental field desired.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with online publishing/social media platforms.
Demonstrated ability to understand marketing and business concepts.
