Hopkins School District - Communications Intern

Reports to: District Communications and Public Relations Coordinator
Description: Provide communications and marketing support for the elementary and secondary principals and staff.
Pay rate: $14.00/hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 40 weeks/year

Job Duties:
-Assist principals with writing, editing, and proofreading of content for a variety of mediums (website, print, visual, social media).
-Assist principal with photos, videos, and website content on a regular basis.
-Align communications and marketing efforts with the district goals and key messages.
-Include families living within the attendance area, with children ages 0-5, in appropriate school communications and activities.
-Use data to help direct communications and marketing efforts (analytics from ConnectEd, parent satisfaction surveys, school tour feedback, etc).
-Support the principal on protocol and process for school tours, branding of entrance signage, and visual branding throughout the school (internal and external).
-Maintain editorial and branding policies, procedures, and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
-College degree or pursuing degree in communications, marketing, or journalism.
-Training and experience in website writing and design.
-Training and experience in graphic and print materials design.
-Good communication skills (oral and written).
-Ability to work well in a team setting.
-Ability to manage time and responsibilities.
-Good organizational skills.
-Ability to work well under pressure.
-Ability to assume initiative in problem-solving.
