Event Manager position is responsible for meeting business objectives
by creating innovative, quality events and conventions that align with
organizational strategies. Events and conventions include national
sales meetings, customer events, national conventions exhibits and
others as assigned. Responsibilities encompass site inspection,
off-site activities, transportation, hotel arrangements, vendor contract
negotiations, budget preparation and monitoring, onsite management and
financial reconciliation. This position also include specific tradeshow
planning by working with marketing managers and other internal
customers, ordering show services, shipping exhibits and supplies and
coordinating booth schedules and staffing.
The Event Manager must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple
projects and logistics simultaneously and deadline-driven. The Event
Manager must be able to contribute creative ideas to program planning
and must prepare all documentation needed for each event, including
program schedules, reports, agendas, budgets and other materials as
needed. This position is responsible for coordinating internal and
external communications related to each event / convention. This
includes promotional pieces, registrations, webpages and other documents
as determined. This position will serve as lead on selected events and
as a team member on others.
Bachelors degree in business or related field required
3-5 years working in the events and convention industry required
Must have knowledge of hotel/convention facility operations
(convention space, catering and A/V) and hotel reservation system
Enthusiastic, motivated and collaborative work style
Strong capacity for creative, innovative, strategic and conceptual
thinking; ability to contribute creative ideas to program planning
Ability to present, converse with all levels of personnel
