Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to be a senior member of a growing team of talented media relations specialists. Our ideal candidate is an experienced PR professional who knows the value of strategic thinking and genuine relationship building. This candidate knows how to blend the two to create successful and focused media relations campaigns.   • Identify news angles, develop story ideas and pitch media – including local and national, print and broadcast media.
  • Successfully secure media placements that drive strategic business results through calls to action that are measurable.
  • Network and make contacts with community and news outlets.
  • Write annual PR plans/strategies independently.
  • Serve as an advisor to clients, providing media counsel to clients while thinking on your feet.
  • Collaborate with LaBreche strategists to develop PR strategies and key messages to successfully manage client crises.
  • Assist manager with coaching and developing media relations team members.
  • Contribute to client meetings with demonstrated professional confidence.
  • Develop project estimates and manage budgets.
  • Media train spokespersons independently.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of applicable experience, including past agency experience.
  • The ideal candidate possesses experience working in the healthcare and financial services sectors for B2B clients.
  • Passion for consuming news media and building relationships with editors, reporters, producers
  • Possess solid, strategic thinking around media relations planning and implementation
  • Ability to find, develop and tell client stories in a way that captures media attention
  • Demonstrated issues management experience
  • Ability to counsel clients on best practices in media relations
  • Enthusiasm and creativity to provide original ideas
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Capable of working concurrently on several projects, in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to push back on clients respectfully
  • Interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish credibility with clients quickly and maintain positive relationships
