Position Summary: Proactively craft, optimize and deliver information and compelling communications that support recruitment and revenue generation for Northwestern College (NWC) and associated divisions through the NWC website, social media, publications, print, electronic media, advertising, and internal communications. Write and produce for other media including coordinating logistics and developing themes for video projects. Participate as collaborative team member/content curator by collaborating with partner representative(s) to discuss story development and marketing/communications needs and strategies. Monitor roll-out of marketing/communications campaigns, communicate progress and recommendations, track progress, meet deadlines, and check success levels. Help maintain and optimize website content, keeping information accurate and current. Edit, write, and produce content for internal and external communication, including key writing for the Pilot magazine. Participate in the distribution of campus-wide messages. Study and absorb best practices, research and statistics that affect messaging for partner areas.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; degree in English, Communication, or Journalism preferred.
Minimum of one year previous professional writing experience required; three years strongly preferred.
Knowledge and demonstrated skill in creative, journalistic, and/or business writing. Ability to interact with a
variety of individuals in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner. Ability to prioritize projects and
complete tasks within deadlines. Intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Office (esp. Word, Outlook
and PowerPoint; experience in SharePoint is a plus). Excellent verbal and writing skills with exemplary
knowledge of grammar, editing, and proofreading.
