Land O'Lake - Senior Digital Communications Specialist



Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land O'Lakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
  
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, graphic design and site management.

The Senior Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive intranet communications strategy to drive improvement in employee engagement and communication across all the business units at Land O'Lakes, Inc. This person will work with IT, HR, Marketing, Corporate Communications and designated content contributors to promote the company's value proposition for attracting, retaining and developing the best talent

The Digital Communications Specialist will oversee the site strategy and content management of Land O'Lakes' employee intranet, assist with a significant intranet rebuild project, and lead the day-to-day operation of the new intranet. The Digital Communications Specialist will maintain responsibility for the intranet editorial calendar in close partnership with the entire Corporate Communications team, and will enforce rules of governance and content standards to ensure the site continues to meet its goals. The Digital Communications Specialist will be well versed in analytics concepts and will report to internal teams and customers to provide meaningful data on how users interact with the site. The Digital Communications Specialist will work closely with technical teams, both for support and for new development. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, the Digital Communications Specialist will participate in writing and editing, as well as assisting with other communications projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will have very strong communication skills, a highly collaborative nature, a desire for accountability and ownership, and expertise in digital user experience trends.

Responsibilities Include:
*  Develop and drive the Land O'Lakes intranet communications strategy, as part of the overall internal communications strategy to engage and energize employees in the achievement of Land O'Lakes' vision, mission and business objectives.
*  Work closely with the Internal Communications and Digital Communications leads to create, schedule and publish online content (internal and external news) which is mapped to the rhythm of the business and corporate milestones.
*  Effectively use communication venues, the intranet, employee discussions, etc. to support the internal communications strategy.
*  Oversee quality of content and user experience for intranet.
*  Lead intranet projects across departments.
*  Working with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the editorial calendar for intranet.
*  Create, develop and manage content for employee intranet (requires working with SharePoint); in partnership with existing content publishers.
*  Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout entire intranet and other digital tools used for internal communication.
*  Copyedit and proofread all intranet content.
*  Keep current with emerging web technologies and assist in educating team on trends.
*  Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference.
*  Track and report on all site metrics.
*  Work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors.


Qualifications
Experience-Education (Required):

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field along with 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably managing content and production for intranet or similar size websites.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of HTML and experience with content management systems (ideally SharePoint; Oracle; and Kentico or similar .NET platform) .
Basic Adobe Photoshop, InDesign skills preferred.
