Saint Paul College - Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Comunications

The Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications provides advanced professional leadership and direction for institutional marketing and branding, program-specific marketing, and internal and external communications. This position also manages and supervises Marketing and Public Relations. The Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Communication serves as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the College. The Director:
  • Provides leadership and direction in positioning Saint Paul College through marketing, public relations and communications as the community and technical college of choice to ensure continued college enrollment;
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and disseminates all internal and external marketing, public relations and communications pieces to ensure that the college and its various constituents are impacted positively;
  • Manages, organizes, and develops the Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications staff members creating an efficient and effective department;
  • Leads and coordinates all aspects of social media campaign to promote programs and services the college offers.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years professional and supervisory experience;
  • Human relation skills, organizational development, technological ability, and oral and written communications to interact across many levels;
  • Proven leadership and management skills exercising initiative and resourcefulness;
  • Competence in long/short range planning and identifying and addressing problems in a preventative manner;
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining a strong branding philosophy throughout all aspects of the college and developing and implementing creative and effective marketing and public relations strategies;
  • Knowledge of basic marketing theory and concepts as well as hands-on experience with new technologies and marketing techniques;
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of social media to expand brand understanding and response;
  • Experience in designing graphic materials to positively promote a college, program, product or event;
  • Manage an advertising budget that maximizes the college's investment in reaching its targeted audience thereby increasing the college's enrollment;
  • Serve as the face of Saint Paul College for all media concerning college activities, events, and milestones;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni and community constituents to increase their financial support to the college;
  • Extensive knowledge of local and state government and the legislative process;
  • Ability to promote the college to key public and private sector stakeholders;
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of team;
  • The ability to motivate others in reaching higher levels of productivity;
  • Serve and interact with diverse populations both within and outside of the College community.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree;
  • 5 years professional experience;
  • Knowledge of key opinion leaders and influential leaders in both the public and private sectors.
