Major Function:
Responsible for managing marketing communication projects that support
the continued growth of Toro’s SWS business and enhances the brand
equity of Toro product lines. Major duties include developing and
producing Toro literature, direct mail, web, point-of-purchase materials
and other communication materials; assisting in the planning and
executing SWS trade shows and events; and developing and maintaining
marketing tools for Toro’s channel partners.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, execute and implement end-user content and collateral
support materials for SWS product lines, including, but not limited to,
sales literature, presentations, product catalogs, web content,
point-of-sale materials, direct mail and social media. Project manage
all phases of production, including:
a. Facilitate communications between the Toro team (i.e., marketing
managers) and outside creative services to cultivate and maintain
product positioning in support of collateral development.
b. Select and manage outside creative services; i.e., designers,
copywriters, color separators, printers, etc. Obtain cost estimates for
all contracted services.
c. Secure various department approvals for the release of collateral materials, using appropriate communication sign-off form.
d. Oversee print production of all sales collateral: Proofread, approve design, approve color, and supervise press checks.
e. Archive completed divisional artwork and finished products
2. Manage the relationship between Toro and the ad agency/PR firm.
3. Write, edit, and proofread marketing content as necessary, including
sales literature, video scripts, advertisements, web copy, point-of-sale
materials, channel communications, etc.
4. Assist in the coordination, planing and execution of SWS trade shows:
a. Coordinate show floor plan and booth layout and signage and video
displays, working with sales and marketing management, as well as the
show venue and display vendors as required.

5. Prepare and post advertising/merchandising content to Toro's dealer/distributor portal.
6. Orchestrate photo sessions and direct photography crew to accomplish
photo needs. Ensure correct equipment is available for photo shoot.
Scout and select locations for shoots. Archive completed photos within
Documentum system. Direct which images (assets) should be placed on
Toro’s Visual Library.
7. Work with marketing managers to prepare annual communications plan
and budget for SWS business unit to include the following markets:
a. Rental
b. Landscape contractors
c. Underground contractors
8. Manage sales literature inventories at the distribution center.
Replenish materials as necessary. Coordinate to ensure the collateral
database is up to date in support of the parts inventory management
system. Provide purchasing vendor estimating to establish purchase
orders for new materials.
9. Develop, populate, maintain and strategically manage websites.
10. Provide strategic marketing commication plans for the following marketings
a. Rental
b. Tree care
c. Landscape contractors
d. Underground contractors
e. Product literature
f. Cement contractors
g. Parts
Specifications:
Work requires the level of educational development normally acquired
through completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism,
or other related field.
Six (6)+ years of related experience.
Must be computer literate with a skill base in Microsoft Office
software. Knowledge of various Mac or PC-based graphics software
packages. Must learn (if necessary) and utilize Toro’s software for web
content management and Salesforce.com.
Must have good organizational and presentation skills, high
productivity, ability to multi task, plus strong project management
abilities. Good written and oral communication skills are essential --
including excellent grammar, punctuation and editing abilities. Creative
thinking a must in developing compelling visual displays and
communication pieces that align with marketing strategies and
objectives. Must project a professional and polished appearance and
demeanor, and possess the ability to be appropriately assertive.
