Careers at TSI - Marketing Event Planner

This position will organize and plan logistics for trade shows, sales meetings and marketing events. This includes coordinating, scheduling, and tracking sales inventory equipment, marketing graphic panels, and collateral for all internal and external events. This position will also assist with general marketing related projects.

Job Responsibilities

Sales Inventory


  • Coordinate, schedule and track equipment used for companywide events including instruments and accessories, marketing graphic panels, booths, tradeshow props and giveaways. Work with the shipping and foreign trade department to insure proper international paperwork is completed.
  • Check in returns and evaluate the completeness of instruments. Order replacement parts on SAP as needed. Coordinate with service/production to ensure that all inventory equipment is maintained on a regular basis.
  • Work with Marketing Manager, Sales Managers and Business Managers to ensure proper levels of inventory, including ordering all new equipment and processing sales orders for demo equipment. Complete monthly inventory reconciliation and inventory level reports and audits for Shoreview and international offices using SAP.
  • Conduct year-end physical inventory audit. This includes writing confirmation letters to specific customers to confirm possession of the inventory.


  • Tradeshows

  • Schedule, organize, and plan logistics for marketing events (trade shows, sales meetings, seminars, product trainings, receptions, Brown Bag Lunch series, and luncheons) to ensure all forms are submitted by discounted deadline date.
  • Work with Marcom Specialists and Business Managers during budgeting process to plan upcoming events based on previous attendance, costs, and sales goals. Use ERP system (SAP) to track and control event costs according to the assigned budget. Set up all Internal Order numbers for tradeshows and update marketing budgets with budget versus actual costs.
  • Research and make recommendations for company sponsored receptions including the Global Sales Meeting.
  • Create and distribute a “Show Site Packet” of information including orders placed, proof of payment, and other critical information for designated TSI attendee.
  • Update the marketing event calendar in the marketing budget files and on TSI’s Web site. Also update the Sale Inventory request form with all shows.
  • Reconcile and submit corporate credit card information for marketing expenses to accounting for payment.
  • Purchase and distribute booth duty apparel for those attending the marketing events and/or tradeshows. Select, purchase, and maintain marketing incentive supply inventory (give away items).
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Completes other assignments and special projects as requested


  • Job Requirements

  • Education/Experience
    • Required
    Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Desired
    • Minimum 2 - 5 years of related experience.
    • Experience conducting a physical inventory audit.
    • B to B tradeshow experience.
    • CMP Certification

    2. Knowledge of:
    • Advance knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
    • Working knowledge of an ERP System (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle). SAP Preferred
