Tech Logic - Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Job Summary:
Responsible for planning and coordinating company communications and events, both external and internal. Work with team to develop and oversee implementation of support materials and services for company in the area of marketing, communications, public relations and events which includes social media, events, email marketing, direct mail, brochures, newsletters, and other channels.
Primary Relationships Within the Organization, the primary working relationship is with the VP Marketing, but shall also interface with senior management team, sales team members, customers, service providers, media, etc.

Primary Responsibilities: communications, marketing, public relations, events management and implementation, to include:
  • Develop company communications including social media, literature and event program materials
  • Drive marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
  • Working with advertisers for timely and usable ad submissions
  • Copy editing, proofreading, and revising communications
  • Designing and launching email-marketing campaigns
  • Recommending, implementing and maintaining website design and operation
  • Working with manager and business units to determine event budget and manage expenses accordingly
  • Promoting products and services through public relations initiatives
  • Driving marketing communications campaigns
  • Implementing thought leadership materials
  • Creating and delivering press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals
  • Identifying, developing, recommending and executing communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references
  • Researching media coverage and industry trends
  • Developing fresh story ideas
  • Conducting media outreach
  • Preparing briefing materials
  • Coordinating schedules and logistics
  • Coordinating conferences, trade shows, and press interviews
  • Manage information
  • Preparing agendas and conducting research
  • Developing short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/ public relations program and its activities, monitoring progress, assuring adherence and evaluating performance
  • Recommending short- and long-term Organization goals and objectives to the VP Marketing
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function
  • Keeping informed of developments in the product development, sales and service areas in order to utilize this information to help the organization operate with initiative and innovation

  • Work with senior staff and maintain a strategic perspective -- based on marketplace and customer needs and satisfaction, in organizational direction, program and services, and decision-making; and,
  • Help make sure that the company’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the company.
  • Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to company priorities.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the execution of marketing, communications, public relations and event activities
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills
  • Experience developing and managing budgets and organizing / executing projects
  • Experience writing press releases, making presentations with media
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
  • Computer literacy in social media, word processing, data base management and page layout
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Out-of-town, overnight travel is required from time to time
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4-5 years experience in marketing, event management, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the Library or a related sector.
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Graduate degree in a related field is desirable
  • Experience working with Libraries is desirable
