Best Buy - Associate Manager - Social Media

Job Description
The Associate Manager – Social Media role is responsible for assisting in the strategic planning and execution of paid social media campaigns for top categories at Best Buy including core business of Home Theater and Digital Imaging and growth categories like Connected Home. This represents campaigns across all social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest. This role is responsible for providing recommendations for the amount of paid media dollars allocated to social media for full funnel campaigns. Additionally this role is responsible for analysis of campaign content and collaboration with paid media on buying strategy, ad units and targeting to develop strategies to increase the rate of return on investment.

The Associate Manager is also responsible for assisting in the strategy and development of Organic social content plans that increase Best Buy’s brand health measured by brand awareness, brand love and sentiment. This role will assist in determining the key cultural moments for Best Buy to gain brand love. During these key cultural moments, this role manages the event from start to finish through planning, content development and oversees publishing.

In both paid and organic this role works cross functionally across marketing to identify strategic social initiatives, lead the strategic planning for the social activation, identify the KPIs and measure the results. This measurement includes quantitative and qualitative analysis. This analysis is done through social specific tools such as Spredfast and Curalate as well as enterprise tools such as Adobe Analytics. This role works with senior leadership cross functionally such as Senior Managers and Directors across category marketing, brand planning, paid media and creative.

Key Responsibilities for the Associate Manager-Social Media:
Content planning and execution
  • Create social strategy for campaigns based on campaign briefs, performance of past campaigns and platform capabilities
  • End to end campaign planning for major categories
  • Assist in developing the platform strategy for 1-2 platforms (i.e. Twitter). This includes determining the role of the platform, strategic usage of the platform, educating teams on evolving capabilities and holistic measurement of the platform.
  • Develop the organic social strategy and prioritize the content requests based on financial information and performance analytics
  • Oversee execution of paid and organic campaigns completed by specialist and/or contractor
  • Generate measurement, analytics, and reporting for social media KPIs for optimization and analysis
  • Analyze results of paid and organic campaigns this includes measuring engagement rates, click thru rates, impressions, sentiment and any additional campaign level KPIs.
  • Compare results across categories, platforms and messaging to gain insights into the results.
  • Communicate results and recommendations with key business partners, tailoring the insights for the specific audience
Testing and Optimization
  • Identify what should be tested and design the test with measurable KPIs.
  • Execute the test and analyze the results with actionable application for future iterations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 6+ years’ experience in a marketing role to include related work in branding, campaigns and media
  • 1+ years’ experience in a role with core responsibilities specific to Social Media
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years’ experience in a leadership capacity to include mentoring and coaching
  • 2+ years of corporate retail experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working with a national brand
  • 1+ years’ experience specific to Mobile media
