Fast Horse - Group Media Relations Director

Fast Horse — an award-winning, integrated creative agency — is hiring a Group Media Relations Director to join our growing team. Candidates must have 10+ years of experience and a track record of leading successful publicity campaigns on a local, national and global level.

We’re searching for someone with the expertise to guide media relations strategy, the desire to personally make the big pitches and the ability to uncover story opportunities where nobody else is looking. We need a leader who can help grow our media relations practice and shape our emerging stars into experts in the field.
The position requires strong news judgment, excellent writing and communication skills, as well as a network of high-level media contacts. Big pluses include agency or newsroom experience, a natural curiosity, a sense of humor and vast knowledge of pop culture.

  • Developing strategic plans
  • Brainstorming creative earned media ideas and approaches
  • Conducting story mining sessions
  • Writing media materials, key messages and Q&A documents
  • Pitching local, national and global media (general interest, entertainment, lifestyle, business, sports, etc.)
  • Leading media/message training with clients
  • Producing risk assessments
  • Providing ongoing counsel to clients related to communications and issues management
  • Participating in agency marketing and new business efforts
  • Supervising and mentoring junior-level media relations staff
